Join Qatar Rail for an exclusive one-hour webinar dedicated to their CIHT 2025 Decarbonisation Award winning entry. You will learn about “Regenerative Propulsion in the Doha Metro: Converting Kinetic Energy to Electrical Energy” and how regenerative propulsion enhances sustainability, lowers operational costs, and builds a greener transport future for Qatar.
During this masterclass, you will:
- Discover how Doha Metro’s regenerative braking technology captures and reuses kinetic energy, reducing carbon emissions and energy costs.
The Regenerative Propulsion in the Doha Metro project represents a breakthrough in sustainable mobility, a major step toward energy-efficient, low-carbon public transport. By transforming the kinetic energy produced during braking into reusable electrical power, this initiative has achieved annual energy savings of over 50,000 MWh and reduced carbon emissions by 24,000+ tonnes each year.
Join us to discover how technology, strategy, and collaboration can work together to power the cities of tomorrow.
This webinar is open to all transport, engineering, and sustainability professionals, whether you are a CIHT Member, Partner Employee, or a non-member.
It will be of particular interest to:
· Transport planners and engineers interested in energy-efficient systems
· Sustainability leaders and policymakers focused on decarbonisation
· Infrastructure professionals seeking insights into replicable green transit models
This webinar is free for all.
