This session will be moderated by Dr Tony Sze, Associated Professor of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a CIHT Hong Kong Committee Member, with panelists sharing their expertise and experiences related to road safety and how different regions approach safer roads and Vision Zero. The discussion will include case studies of successful road safety initiatives, highlighting best practices and lessons learned. Panelists will also address current and emerging issues, new technologies and challenges faced by different regions. All participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage with the panelists, exploring different perspectives and debating solutions to tackle road safety issues.
This series is tailored to cater to civil engineers of all levels, including those at various grades, especially those who are involved in Road Safety Audits.

Julian KWONG CEng FICE MHKIE - Director, Chaussees Limited Julian is a consultant in road safety engineering, audit and signage. He has served as consultant to the United Nation, the Asian Development Bank and mainland authorities on highway safety and design standards. Julian has undertaken more than 180 RSA for various road projects in Hong Kong and mainland China, including expressways, tunnels, transport hubs, urban networks and cycle tracks. He advocates for lower urban speed limits and better integration between road safety and landscape design. |

Fraser Arnot - Technical Director, AtkinsRealis Fraser has over 18 years of experience in transport planning and operations and road safety. He has conducted road safety studies, risk assessments, collision investigation and road safety auditing across the UK and internationally including Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. Fraser also specialises in walking and cycling projects, offering strategic advice to government organisations and design advice from initial feasibility through to detailed design stages. Fraser has presented to national conferences on road safety and active travel-based projects, including two presentations to CIHT's SoRSA in the UK for the update to Road Safety Audit and the update to NMU Audit standards.
