CIHT will be hosting the next monthly masterclass in our webinar series on 28 July 2022 at 13:00-14:00.
The webinar will take place on the GoTo Webinar platform and will see a set of presentations from several experts within the industry who will present on the topic of Transport’s Post Covid Recovery: Making the Case for Investment and Scheme Delivery with LCWIP.
There will be a Q&A session towards the end of the webinar where the audience can ask the speakers their questions.
This webinar is free for all CIHT Members to attend and is charged for CIHT partner employees and non-members.
In this CIHT Monthly Masterclass webinar, our speakers will highlight the how walking, wheeling, and cycling should be at the front of everyone's agenda when it comes to the post-Covid recovery of our transport system.
Utilising a broad range of examples, the speakers will discuss the importance of sustainable transport workstreams in a transport strategy as well as the scope and scale of these.
The masterclass will also feature the importance of Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIP), how these are utilised and the benefits they can bring in terms of securing investment and ensuring scheme delivery.
This webinar is open to both CIHT Members and non-members. It will be of particular interest to anyone at local authority level looking to find out more about what LCWIP guidance can do for them, or consultants looking to better advise their clients, or indeed anyone involved in sustainable transport planning, development planning, transport engineering or land use planning.
Synopsis: The talk will cover how active travel has been invested in and promoted in Tees Valley over recent years and why it is important for the area. It will describe how Tees Valley Combined Authority has worked together with the five Tees Valley local authorities and WSP to respond to the government’s Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy. It will explain how the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan process has been followed to identify the priority corridors where investment is now being made and construction will soon begin.
The information will provide a background of the situation in Tees Valley, but also what could work in other areas. It will also present a process to help consider active travel as part of wider transport network planning alongside other transport innovations.
