Our career talks event series will see multiple professionals from both Transport Planning and Engineers disciplines talking about their career, the sector, how the sector works with other disciplines, hints, tips and advice they have learned over the years and what the future of the sector looks like.
Each event will include two speakers, followed by a question and answer session.
In this afternoon session we will hear from Jordan Edge, who is an Engineer and current Young Professionals Chair for CIHT North West, as well as Eddie Mellor, Head of Transport Planning UK at Mott MacDonald.
This event series is aimed at people starting out in the sector, those looking to change sector or people who are just interested in the sector and how to progress within it.

Eddie started his journey into transport planning from leaving school in 1977, taking a job as a structural engineering technician and doing a day release ONC in Building Studies at Chester College.
So how did he end up as a chartered engineer leading Mott MacDonald’s Transport Planning business in the UK?

Jordan Edge, Engineer (self-employed)
Jordan started out in 2008 as a trainee Civil Engineer, worked in different areas of the transport sector in Rail and Highways, mainly design Engineering, Inspection work and also a small amount of policy writing.
Jordan has spent the last 3 years in his spare time trying to develop some inventions of his, one being an EV charger.
