Join our Emerging Professionals Committee as we explore our topic for the Emerging Professionals Conference: ‘Transport as an Enabler: Local Challenges, Regional Solutions, National Patterns’.
This will be an interactive group activity focusing on identifying local transport challenges, developing regional solutions and how these contribute to wider national patterns. The outcomes will be presented at the CIHT EP Conference on 8th September 2026. Our region is currently experiencing significant investment and change, with may schemes supporting the shift towards sustainable transport, Active Travel, BRT and the pedestrianisation of the city centre key areas of development.
These projects demonstrate how transport can act as a key enabler for regeneration, connectivity and economic growth across the region.

Attendees will also get a presentation from Dr. Lorraine Barry, Transport Data Lead at the Department for Infrastructure, demonstrating the Smart Sensor Network and Transport Data Reporting work the Department is undertaking.
This session is open to emerging professionals, graduates, and early-career individuals with an interest in shaping the future of transport across the region.
