The CIHT South West celebrate the very best the region offers across the key areas of highways and transportation. They are open to everyone: members and non-members; small and large organisations; public, private and third sector. The Awards recognise the outstanding contribution that good projects and people make to our daily lives.
Nominations are now closed for the 2022 CIHT South West Awards and this year we have five categories. The deadline for the awards was extended to Friday 15th April 2022.

2022 Awards Application Form
Recognising the best policies, plans, schemes or initiatives in the South West region which were completed or reached a significant milestone in 2021. Projects should illustrate best practice across a number of measures. The delivery team should be seen as ambassadors of their profession who will have demonstrated excellence in the planning or engineering field within the highways and transportation industry.
Recognising the need to promote and encourage imaginative concepts and continuous improvements in the highways and transportation industry. Innovation could be in terms of research, technology, products, processes and services that have resulted in a positive impact. The entry must be based in the South West, be developed or have reached a significant milestone in 2021 and the submission should include evidence of improved performance brought about by the innovation.
Recognising projects, initiatives or solutions in the highways and transportation industry that can demonstrate a positive contribution to sustainable living and working practices and to address the impacts of climate change. Entries should demonstrate a measurable sustainable impact and how this initiative will continue to generate benefits into the future through ongoing implementation and/or monitoring.
Recognising those that have shown dedication to working in collaboration with other teams, organisations and/or sectors to deliver real solutions. Submissions should highlight how collaborative best practice, achieved or largely achieved in 2021, added value to the policy, plan, project, initiative or service outcomes and what role it played in enhancing relationships and engagement.
Recognising CIHT members who are emerging professionals (up to 7 years’ work experience) based in the South West region, who have made an excellent contribution to the Highways and Transportation profession, demonstrate the values of CIHT and who are making a difference in our industry.
The CIHT South West region’s award for the Emerging Professional Presentation competition. The competition final will, which saw three finalists present on a transportation topic of their choice, which will be held in May and judged by CIHT South West committee members and the CIHT President. The winner is announced at the awards ceremony.
