This lunchtime presentation, organised by CIHT Northern Ireland and in collaboration with CIHT South West, will offer the opportunity to find out more about the planning, procurement and construction of a new relief road through a brown field site in Somerset. This is an opportunity to find out more about the process of delivering this significant highway infrastructure project.
This is a chance to hear about the delivery of the £18.4m Colley Lane Southern Access Road Project from Whitemountain (the contractor in NI) in partnership with Somerset County Council and AECOM.
This webinar will offer an insight into the planning, procurement and construction of a new relief road through a brown field site.
Interesting facts about this particular project are:
• The route of the new carriageway involved constructing across a historical waste site
• New road embankments were constructed with polystyrene blocks across contaminated grounds
• Five individual load transfer platforms
• New river bridge is the longest single span bridge in Somerset
• Bridge crossings over canal and a major river
Further details of the project can be viewed at: www.clsar.co.uk
