The talk will be delivered by Phil Jones BSc (Hons), CEng, FCIHT, FIHIE, MICE, MITE. Phil has over 30 years’ experience in the planning and design of development infrastructure, with particular expertise in traffic analysis, transport planning and highway design. Phil specialises in creating places and spaces that meet aesthetic, social and functional aims and advises a large number of private and public sector clients on transportation and infrastructure elements.
Phil will discuss the history and background to the use of ‘shared space’ and present the findings of the recent CIHT review of this approach to street design. He will also touch on the implications of the DfT’s inclusive Transport Strategy which contains new policies in this area.
This event is open to both members and non-members of the CIHT.
