Subject Crossrail Learning Legacy

The Crossrail Learning Legacy programme aims to share the lessons from delivering Crossrail to raise the bar in industry and showcase UK plc.  Crossrail is working with its supply chain and key partners such as professional institutions, academia, and successor projects to publish case studies, reports and good practice documents on a dedicated website learninglegacy.crossrail.co.uk The website will grow over the duration of the project and aims to promote a culture of sharing and transparency to the benefit of all major projects.

Simon will explain how the Learning Legacy programme was set up and is managed and share a few key items of learning of interest to IHT members.

Speaker: Simon Bennett BEng FCILT MCIPR

Simon is Head of Learning Legacy at Crossrail. A Civil Engineer, Transport Planner and Communications professional, he worked on the original 1990s Crossrail scheme for London Underground and in 2000 was seconded from TfL to Cross London Rail Links to work on developing the project and securing powers. He led the Consultation team which became the Petitions Negotiation team during the Bill process. During the construction phase he had the role of Head of Stakeholder Management and then Programme Community Relations Manager.
