University of York Heslington East Campus
Since 2000, the University has invested more than £500m to upgrade and expand its campus facilities including £200m spent on phase one of the Heslington East expansion which is the single largest investment made by any UK University. A further £60m was invested throughout 2011/2012 to deliver a new sports village, a College (650 rooms with bar and administrative building). The development has been support by the design and installation of off-site and on-site highway works with many innovative and sustainable features.
Wind Farm Design
In areas once dominated by cooling towers now stand tall new symbols of the new renewable focus to our energy supply – WIND FARMS. These turbines require a significant amount of infrastructure in order to construct, maintain and eventually decommission them at the end of their life. The development of wind farms requires many supporting infrastructures which provide challenges to balance the natural environment and ecology. Once the sites are established there are access and design issues in order to install wind farms and to maintain operational access with varying impacts on the highway network.
Why not join us and find out more about these innovative & sustainable projects.
