Led by CIHT Scotland. This webinar will explore approaches to Development Planning in Scotland and will look at how it can adapt for the future. This presentation will be followed by a live Q&A.
The event seeks to explore the current approach in Scotland to the transport aspects of Development Planning and consider whether that remains valid in a world where travel decisions are being affected by changes in transport policy, infrastructure investment, transport availability and technology. Is our approach to development planning still valid or does it have to evolve?
The discussion would suit anyone working in development planning or management and at any level.
Kelvin Clarke has been working in development planning for more than 30 years, the majority of which was with JMP Consultants Limited, recognised leaders in the transport related elements of development planning.
Kelvin has had the opportunity to be involved in a significant number of development projects from small to large include a number of Scotland’s major development sites. These include some of the largest mixed use, retail, business park, housing and hospital development in Scotland and some of the most significant development sites in Northern Ireland.
He has worked through a period with many significant changes in approach to land use planning, transport policies and transport investment without seeing a similar level of change in the role of transportation in supporting development planning and management. He is looking forward to engaging in the industry response to support the changing land use / transport debate.
