Development Travel Plans in Practice

This one-day course is aimed at those with some experience of working with development travel plans, but is also of benefit to those with little or no experience.  The course will consider the development travel plan throughout the planning process using case studies and by providing useful information and will cover:

•    Different types of travel plans and land uses and specific issues and measures associated with each
•    Application of relevant policy and guidance in England including implications of the new NPPF and relationship to Transport Assessments and Statements and what authorities including the Highways Agency are looking for
•    An overview of policy outside England
•    The design of the site and assessing the travel demand and its likely impact
•    Identifying an appropriate strategy for the travel plan
•    Setting appropriate objectives and targets and a measured means of evaluation
•    Preparing the financial budget and the programme/action plan
•    Negotiating the plan and issues associated with securing it
•    Matters post planning, implementation and monitoring.
