From 2015, the DfT will be devolving funding for major transport schemes to Local Transport Bodies (LTBs), which are made up of Local Transport Authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs). It is the role of the LTBs to manage the funding, review and approve business cases for schemes and ensure effective delivery of the programme from 2015 to 2019.
On Thursday 21st November CIHT's South Western branch will be hosting a Devolving Major Schemes seminar at Exchange House, Taunton.
This seminar will share experiences from the LEP areas across the South West on how the new process is being implemented, and also how authorities are seeking to address transport and economic challanges within their areas.
