Adrian Garcia, transport planner at AECOM, will be presenting the results of the research into the implications of the ‘smartphone oblivion’ on road safety, winner of the 2017 Colas CIHT Presentations Regional Heat in Scotland.
Adrian will present the results of a review into the growing issue of distracted walking and its associated dangers. This research outlines how transport bodies across the world have sought to raise awareness of the issue using a range of engineering, education and enforcement approaches, and how findings could potentially be applied in the development of local campaigns.
