Is free parking really the key to thriving high streets?
CIHT Scotland is pleased to host this webinar with Rob Leet, Head of Parking & Enterprise at Horsham District Council, as he discusses if town centre parking charges drive success.
Rob Leet, Head of Parking & Enterprise at Horsham District Council, published an essay on LinkedIn in December 2024 asking if town centre parking charges drive success.
The essay is a comprehensive analysis of existing research and challenges the common assumption that free or cheap parking is essential for town centre success.
The research has drawn from multiple studies across Europe (including Edinburgh and Aberdeen), and demonstrates that the relationship between parking and retail performance is more complex than traditionally believed.
Rob Leet will present his analysis, evidence and the key finding in a lunchtime webinar which will include a Q&A session.
This event is open to anyone working in the Highways and Transport sector and particularly people involved in/with an interest in parking.
