Electrifying the Rail Network Chase Line Project - Walsall to Rugeley

Network Rail are electrifying 15 miles of railway between Walsall, Hednesford and Rugeley Trent Valley to provide a cleaner, greener and more regular train service for passengers on
the Chase Line. This scheme is currently live and so far has included the rebuilding of several road bridges and the reconstruction of Park Street bridge which forms the main shopping street through Walsall town centre. The project will also see the closure of Bloxwich level crossing to improve safety along the route. Sally O’Hare, Network Rail Project Manager will talk through all aspects of the project which combined will bring this section of the railway into the 21st century.
