Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) have been introduced by this government and now 39 of them cover all of England. They have received significant sums of money from the Government to invest in infrastructure projects, they have been asked to prioritise the transport pinch points within their area and they are likely to play a significant role in the new Local Transport bodies that are to be established. All of which helps explain why you should know much more about what they are doing.
Geoff was appointed Chair of the newly established Enterprise M3 LEP in 2011, the LEP is a partnership between the private, public and third sectors to promote enterprise and growth along the M3 corridor. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, a Vice President of the Institution of Civil Engineers and was Chairman of the ACE in 2009. He was elected to the Executive Committee of FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers in 2005, became its Vice President in 2009 and its President in 2011.
He worked for Scott Wilson for 42 years and was Non Executive Chairman from 2008 until its acquisition by URS in 2010, having been Executive Chairman since 2002.
He has over 40 years experience providing transportation and development advice to governments, banks, major developers, local authorities and international funding agencies.
