Led by CIHT South East and our CIHT President Deborah Sims. This walking tour will examine the 20's Plenty zone in Faversham and the benefits of the local cycling and walking infrastructure plan.
This event will comprise of a technical presentation about the background and development of the 20 mph scheme, issues encountered, lessons learnt, challenges, barriers, engineering and planning matters, including the role of local residents. There will also be a discussion around future plans and developments including the LCWIP. This will be followed by a walking tour of Faversham highlighting key features, problematic issues and sites for future work. A reception and networking event will be held afterwards in the historic Faversham Guildhall.

Ben is an Associate Urban Planner working in PJA’s London office. He has over eleven years’ experience of urban planning and transport planning. Prior to joining PJA, Ben has worked at consultancy, local authority and third-sector organisations. Ben’s technical experience ranges from initial site analysis and concept design, through to public engagement and detailed design. He is currently leading on the development of LCWIPs in Faversham, Mid-Sussex, and the Mendips. He is also supporting the Department for Transport in the ‘LCWIP Refresh’ which is updating the LCWIP guidance and its contents
This event will be of interest to both members and non-members working in the field of active travel, speed and casualty reduction, 20mph zones, enhancing walking and cycles facilities, etc, from local authorities, consultants and contractors including policy makers and budget holders.
