Funding Transport Infrastructure
30th April 2009, Bircham Dyson Bell, London
Understand the new guidelines and the options for financing your transport infrastructure project.
Transport connections to strategically significant developments (such as ports and airports) are crucial for productivity and competitiveness but the question of who should fund such connections is frequently discussed.
After extensive consultation the Government are due to publish a set of guidelines outlining the funding arrangements for transport infrastructure. These guidelines seek to clarify contribution arrangements and ensure consistency across development types and transport modes.
This conference will enable delegates to understand the detail of the new guidelines and how they apply to developments; it examines how schemes can meet the Government’s goals under Delivering a Sustainable Transport System and scheme appraisal under NATA. It also considers the role of the private sector in infrastructure funding and the changing market, as well as examining regional and local funding mechanisms.
Discuss the economic challenges facing infrastructure funding and the mechanisms available for financing regional and local transport infrastructure.
