This is the joint event between the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Engineering Group of the Geological Society.
Climate change and more severe weather are causing more damage and disruption to transport networks. The measures that we implement now will ensure that transportation systems are able to cope with more extreme weather.
This half day conference has key speakers from the highways and rail industries speaking about policy and practical measures that can be put into place to ensure that transport infrastructure is fit for purpose in the future. There will be a session on roads and a session on rail with plenary discussion and the opportunity for brief presentations by delegates on examples of practical future proofing measures (subject to advance notification).
