CIHT UAE are delighted to welcome this webinar exploring gender informed design.
DATE & TIME: 24 June 2025 @ 18:00 – 19:00 GULF STANDARD
Transport shapes how we live, connect, and thrive—yet it hasn’t worked equally for everyone. In collaboration with CIHT London, this seminar will explore how a gender-informed approach to planning and design can create more inclusive, accessible cities.
The London Legacy Development Corporation, with leading experts, has developed a Handbook that reimagines how we design public spaces—from streets to parks—so everyone can move safely and confidently from their doorstep to opportunity.
Cities have long overlooked how women and girls navigate urban spaces. By rethinking how we design and manage transport corridors, we can build places that are more liveable, resilient, and fair. Join us to discover how this global shift is transforming cities - and why it matters now more than ever.
Ruth Lin Wong Holmes leads Landscape and Public Realm at London Legacy Development Corporation, managing Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s transformation—including 6,000 homes, better transport links, and 560 acres of parkland.
She’s authored guidance for LLDC and the Mayor of London, such as Safety in the Public Realm for Women, Girls, and Gender Diverse People. With 30 years across public, private, and charity sectors, Ruth champions inclusive design and community-led placemaking.
THIS IS AN ONLINE EVENT. Attendance at this seminar is free, but registration is mandatory. Sign up at Gender Informed Design.
Registered attendees will be sent joining details shortly before the event.
