Venue: SCI HQ, London,UK
Organised by SCI's Construction Materials Group
Synopsis:
This seminar will review the issues and advantages of using the various types of geosynthetics and steel mesh systems that are available to enhance the performance of flexible composite pavements of roads, airfields and similar areas.
In the current economic climate with the coalition government looking to reduce expenditure on highway construction and with traffic volumes steadily increasing year on year, it is important more than ever before that highway authorities consider all options to ensure their pavements last as long as possible.
Incorporating Geosynthetics and Steel Meshes into the pavement structure is one such option for enhancing the service life of pavements. This approach effectively helps to make the existing asset last longer and reduces the whole life cost index thereby securing best value for the public purse.
