*  Daniel Moylan was elected to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council for Queen’s Gate ward in 1990, he took an interest principally in environmental matters including waste, environmental health and parks and leisure. After he became Deputy Leader of the Council in 2000, he added to these interests responsibilities for transportation, public realm and later planning. He has also served as the Council’s Design Champion and Heritage Champion. Daniel Moylan resigned as Deputy Leader and from the Council’s Cabinet in April 2011 in order to concentrate on his work as Deputy Chairman of Transport for London. He continues as a councillor for Queen’s Gate ward.

Daniel Moylan is closely associated with streetscape improvements in the Royal Borough that have become the focus of national and international attention. Improvements to Kensington High Street and Exhibition Road have won many awards.

In May 2010, Daniel Moylan was asked to take on political responsibility for the Mayor of London’s proposed new airport for London, a topic he has devoted increasing time to. Working with Transport for London officers and with City Hall, he has overseen the publication of two major reports and has since taken responsibility for the Mayor’s work with the Airports Commission chaired by Sir Howard Davies. He speaks regularly at conferences in support of the Mayor’s plan for a new multi-runway hub airport to be located to the east of London and against the expansion of Heathrow.
