Date 08 May

Site Visit

Heathrow ULTRA

We have arranged a visit for up to twelve people to go to Heathrow where we'll be met by a BAA rep. He'll take us for a ride on ULTRA and then to their control room. The visit will last about 2 hours Applicants for the visit will be given details of the start time at Heathrow.

You will have to make your own way to Heathrow (taking the Heathrow Express) and back.

ULTRA (Urban Light Transit) is a personal rapid transit system developed by ULTra PRT, (formerly known as Advanced Transport Systems). The first public system using ULTra has been constructed at London's Heathrow Airport, and has now opened to the public.

The award winning ULTra PRT system began passenger trials at London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 5, in October 2010 and opened for full passenger service 22 hours a day, 7 days a week, in May 2011. It runs between the Terminal 5 and its business parking lot, with 2.4 miles of track and 21 vehicles.
