Manchester | FREE | Our Annual Highway Conference in the North West is back!
This year's theme is network resilience for the future. The demands on our transport network continue to grow. Any disruption has an increasing effect on our ability to move people and goods safely and efficiently. Extreme events, such as those due to weather, accidents or even terrorism can cause major disruption.
Our network needs to be as resilient as we can make it, within economic constraints, both as proof against future disruption but also in our ability to recover from such events. Combined with that, the need for fully effective communication - to advise those about to embark on a journey, as well as those directly affected by the conditions - is paramount.
This conference will focus on the ways in which we can create, enhance and maintain a resilient transport network through the experience of a range of speakers with first-hand knowledge of planning for, and responding to, disruptive events.
Complimentary refreshments and light lunch will be available.
We have a range of confirmed speakers including Transport for the North, Highways England and the British Army.
A full programme will be available shortly.
The CIHT North West Conference is a key event in CIHT’s calendar that regularly attracts 120+ delegates - a high percentage attending from local authorities, regional clients and their supply chain.
