This webinar will cover an overview of the requirements and routes to gaining CEng, IEng and EngTech registration through CIHT.
You will hear from Farheen Ahmed who has been a CIHT reviewer since 2023. Farheen will provide an insight of what reviewers look for from candidates at the Professional Review stage and what to expect at your Professional Review interview.
You will also hear from Sajjad Khan who achieved CEng registration in 2025. Sajjad will share his top tips on how to be successful at the Professional Review stage.
By joining this webinar, you will gain an understanding of the routes you can take to gaining professional recognition as a Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician. You will understand what is expected in the Portfolio of Evidence and how to be successful at a Professional Review interview.
Greg's background is in education, advising professionals and students on how they can achieve professional registration to progress their careers. CIHT offer access to the full range of engineering qualifications (EngTech, IEng and CEng) as well as the Chartered Transport Planning Professional (TPP) award. TPP is awarded jointly by CIHT and TPS and administered by CIHT. Greg will be able to advise you on the different levels of registration available, including your route to gaining the qualification, how to apply and the assessment process.
Farheen is a Chartered Engineer with over 23 years of experience in the design, management and delivery of large multi-disciplinary highway and infrastructure projects in the UK. As a Technical Director within Arcadis, Farheen utilises her expertise and skills in design, technical assurance, client management, project management and lean management in leading and delivery of different aspects of highways and infrastructure projects. She has been working on National Highways Technical Assurance framework since 2019, managing and leading three high-profile Midlands projects. She is also a FIR (Fairness, Inclusion, and Respect) ambassador and an IBIP (Improving Behaviours, Improving Performance) coach.
Farheen has been a Professional Reviewer since 2023 and has undertaken many CEng and IEng reviews. She has been a member of CIHT West Midlands committee since 2016 and has served many positions. She is now Vice Chair for West Midlands Committee and launched first CIHT Women Network for West Midlands region in 2024. She has undertaken the role of both mentor and sponsor for a number of CIHT professional review candidates at CEng and IEng levels.
Sajjad Khan is a Chartered Engineer and Senior Transport Planner at Buro Happold KSA, with over eight years of experience in transport planning and project management across the UK and the Middle East. He holds an MEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. Sajjad has led numerous high-value projects, including strategic advisory roles and master planning for major developments in Saudi Arabia. He is proficient in data analysis, stakeholder management, and public speaking, and has a strong track record of delivering client-focused solutions in complex, multidisciplinary environments. Sajjad recently achieved CEng registration through CIHT via the standard route.
