CIHT South West is excited to offer this in-person event for people seeking to pursue professional qualifications with CIHT. All routes into qualification will be discussed with presentations from mentors and reviewers on both CEng and CTPP qualifications and the opportunity to ask questions.

This complimentary event is for people on route to, about to embark on, or who just want to know more about gaining professional qualifications through CIHT - including Chartered Transport Planning Professional, EngTech, Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer. Two sessions will be held in separate rooms simultaneously for both the CTPP and Engineering Council qualifications. Please book your ticket accordingly.
During this session you will hear from various speakers including reviewers and members who have recent experience of becoming qualified.
You will gain advice and knowledge about what is involved, how to apply, who is eligible and some tips and tricks!

Nik Bowyer CTPP FCIHT CGeog FRGS FCILT MTPS - Associate Director at WSP Nik is an Associate Director at WSP, with over 19 years’ experience in the transport profession – primarily, in private sector roles specialising in transport planning, transport modelling, and economic appraisal. A past Chair of the CIHT South West region, Nik is currently Regional Representative to CIHT Council, and is also Chair of CIHT’s Appian Board and a CIHT Trustee. He has experience working on projects across the South West of England, South Wales, London, and throughout the UK. His clients include National Highways, Transport for Wales, Heathrow Airport, Transport for London, the DfT, and various Local Authorities Nik is an advocate for transport professionals and ensuring opportunities for personal growth and CPD. He was the Appian Board ‘champion’ for the development of CIHT Learn and has mentored across several professional qualification schemes. Nik achieved Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification in 2018; in the absence of a qualifying Master’s degree, Nik achieved TPP through the Portfolio of Technical Knowledge (PTK) route. |

Keith Smith FCIHT CEng - Group Chief Engineer at Chevron Group Keith has nearly years involvement in construction site planning and temporary traffic management project management, engineering and design including two years overseas. He is Chief Engineer with Chevron, part of Ramudden Global Limited, the UK's longest established high profile temporary management company. He has contributed to and or written many codes of practice in the field of TTM and was recently responsible for developing the Enhanced Mobile Carriageway Closures technique that is supporting a new way of working on the strategic road network. Currently working for the Chevrons parent company on developing standards in the Nordics and North America as well as the UK for TTM operations and temporary vehicle restraint systems. |
