A CIHT North West led presentation which will discuss a video analytics project between Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and Humanising Autonomy (HA) that aims to measure adherence to social distancing.
Innovation has been a key part of Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM) response to Covid-19 due to limited resources and an increase of responsibility and support needed by other sectors. In order to maximise the impact of our response work, we have teamed up with Humanising Autonomy (HA) to deliver a social distancing project to assess the impacts of shifting social distancing measures.
HA’s cloud analytics software is analysing video footage from existing CCTV infrastructure at select interchanges to study the behaviours of pedestrians and transport users. The analysis dashboard is enabling TfGM to understand situations where social distancing adherence is challenging and provide granular insights which would otherwise not be accessible. The project is funded by Innovate UK and was awarded as part of the fast response action to C-19 lot of funding.
We will share project and analysis insights, and collaboration best-practices. Insights will show how by understanding behaviours at interchanges, TfGM was able to proactively address social distancing
A key question to answer is how public and private partners can start to leverage existing data streams to put human behaviour analysis and understanding at the centre of urban mobility ecosystems.
Target audience includes all professionals from both the private and public sector that are interested in innovation, digital solutions, economics, behavioural insights, data analysis, AI, and smart mobility.
