Innovative techniques have been developed to address the increasing demand to continuously improve construction quality and completion rate of roads and geotechnical investigation projects in Qatar. This presentation will cover how these testing and monitoring techniques, combined with engineering analysis, can help to accelerate schedule, provide savings whilst achieving quality assurance.
Al Khor Expressway and Lusail Stadium are project case studies to be discussed in the presentation.

Dr. Pejman Dehdezi, Senior Pavement Specialist, Fugro, Qatar
Pejman is a Chartered Engineer with 10 years of experience in pavement construction, maintenance, pavement failure investigation and rehabilitation, pavement structure and material design, laboratory testing, QA/ QC and research. He has a doctorate in Pavement Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK. He is experienced in pavement design and constructions projects in the UK and Middle East and is currently a Project Director for the construction of Al Khor Expressway.

Eng. Anna Villamor, Geotechnical Engineering Manager, Fugro, Qatar
Anna is a Graduate Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers. She achieved her Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Major in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of the Philippines. Her technical expertise is in site investigations, laboratory testing of soils, rocks, concrete and asphalt, soil and rock characterization, deep and shallow foundation design, earthworks, reclamation and settlement monitoring, slope stability analyses and cost engineering.
