Venue: The Atrium, Exchange Station, Liverpool, Tithebarn Street, Liverpool, L2 2QP
The North West CIHT Young Professionals Committee invites you to join our upcoming evening talk on Itelligent Transport Systems - The Changing face of mobility on Monday the 30th of April 2018 delivered by Stephanie Barton and Ian Pengelly (WSP).
In this free seminar, we consider how to understand and plan for future mobility challenges using flexible strategies, understanding future risks and learning from current studies and schemes with a particular focus on connected vehicles.
The session will begin with a presentation on New Mobility Now, a white paper launched at the ITS world Conference in 2017. It outlines the five pillars of future mobility: automated driving, connected vehicles, electric vehicles, shared use and business models. There will be a discussion of the different factors at play in the current climate and highlighting the challenges faced. Moreover it is a practical guide going beyond hypothetical debate to discuss how to implement decisions to be the most productive and most likely to deliver benefits. This will be followed by real-life case study of connected vehicles, namely the Hinkley Point Green Light Optimised Speed Advice (GLOSA) trial in Somerset, which aims to improve HGV vehicle flows to and from the nuclear power plant development site.
Light refreshments will be provided upon arrival. Members and non-members are welcome!
