Chairman Chris Connor. Presenters Bill Taylor – Managing Director Ringway Jacobs and BEAR, Tom West from Ringway.
We can never be sure about the winter weather in the UK. We haven't had snow so far in London and the Home Counties. That's not to say we've missed it. Late snows lasting into March are not unheard of. Scotland has already seen its fair share.
Ringway, BEAR Scotland and Ringway Jacobs will explore key elements of current winter service best practice and discuss innovations being implemented and challenges being faced in London, Scotland and the shire Counties.
Chris Connor – MD of Ringway with over 35 years experience in highway maintenance both in the public and private sectors. Public sector experience gained in Hertfordshire as winter decision maker and in London in policy and standards setting as a Director of TfL. In the private sector Chris has led service development offers for the HA, Transport Scotland and numerous local authorities.
Bill Taylor – As MD of Ringway Jacobs, and with over 25 years experience, Bill has directed the delivery of the winter service on the high profile Central London TfL network and has developed winter service offers for many local authorities. In Scotland he led local authority service delivery for the Scottish Executive and managed the development of BEAR, the major provider for Transport scotland. In 2010/11 winter season Bill and his team dealt with some of the harshest winter conditions seen on mainland UK.
Tom West – Regional Director for Ringway, Tom is in the process of mobilising Ringway’s new contract with North Yorkshire County Council and will be responsible for delivery of the winter service in the largest County with one of the coldest climates in England. Tom has also been the winter service provider for Kent County Council and has led the development of Ringway’s innovative and substantial winter service.
