The Local Sustainable Transport Fund in Hampshire and beyond

Two trends have dominated local transport in the recent past. The first is the move to local transport funding (both capital and current) being awarded by competition. The second is the move from ‘harder’ (and expensive) measures, such as the provision of new infrastructure, to ‘softer’ (and cheaper) measures, such as the better provision of information. These two trends have been encapsulated by the Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF), a funding stream that has been in operation from 2012/13 to 2015/16. The University of Southampton has been involved in studies to monitor and evaluate the LSTF in Hampshire, Greater Manchester and Leicestershire.

Join Professor John Preston from the University of Southampton, who will give a talk on the work he has done monitoring and evaluating the Local Sustainable Transport Fund for Hampshire.
