Venue: Tfl Offices,Palestra, Blackfriars Road
(Committee Rooms 1 and 2, Ground floor)

Subject: London’s air quality challenge
Speaker: Oliver Lord, Air Quality Manager at the Greater London Authority
With the Government failing to meet legal limits for Nitrogen Dioxide and the main candidates to be the next Mayor of London all vying to prioritise the environment and cut pollution in the city, this is an excellent and timely opportunity to hear first-hand about the air quality challenge faced in the capital.
We will be joined by Oliver Lord, Air Quality Manager at City Hall, who will provide an insight into the tenability of meeting this challenge in the context of London’s growth and the Volkswagen emissions scandal. Alongside the future development of London’s transport system, Oliver will highlight the main contributors to pollution in the city and the solutions available.
Oliver Lord is currently the Air Quality Manager at the Greater London Authority, where he has responsibility for air quality policy, green transport initiatives and liaison with Government and European partners.
Before this he worked at Transport for London, where he delivered several projects and initiatives to encourage sustainable travel. Most recently, he was responsible for developing transport strategy and policy, with a particular focus on the environment, including the Mayor’s flagship Ultra Low Emission Zone. He has previously specialised in Environmental Psychology at the University of Surrey.
