The Lurgan Area Track Renewal Project was delivered during a 28 day track blockade in Summer 2019.
The project scope was to renew 1 mile of double track, three level crossings and construct 350m of new platforms to replace the life expired Victorian Structure.
This presentation focuses on some of the difficulties which were faced along the route to completion and how they were overcome.

Allan Stewart, Project Manager at Translink
For the past 13 years of his 20-year rail career, Allan has worked for Translink, both as a Permanent Way engineer and more recently as a Project Manager. Since joining the Renewals Department in 2017, his first large scale project was the delivery of the Lurgan Area Track Renewals scheme.
Prior to taking up this position, he was employed by John Mowlem during the Belfast Bangor Track Renewal Project and Amec Spie on the Loughshore Track Relay between Bleach Green Viaduct and Whitehead. He has also gained experience in working in Great Britain on the Edinburgh Waverly Station Remodelling Project.
