The Government has recently consulted on proposals to establish a new investment programme for the most heavily trafficked local authority roads which will be known as the Major Road Network; and is encouraging the formation of new strategic transport bodies to develop transport strategies and investment priorities across broad sub-national areas, acting as a single point of contact for strategic transport matters.
This evening seminar will outline the Government’s intentions for the Major Road Network and the response from the South West; provide an update on the rapid progress that has been made in establishing sub-national transport bodies for the South West; and outline the key areas of focus for the new bodies going forward. The speakers have been closely engaged in the development of the new bodies.
