Marketing and Promoting the Bike: Learning from the EU CHAMP Project

Getting the Message Right

The CHAMP project gathered leading cities in the field of cycling development to look at innovative ways to further boost cycling in their cities and enhance their local policies.

Measures that were implemented in CHAMP include route based cycling promotion, creative bike parking solutions, bicycle accounts, innovative awareness raising and marketing campaigns for different target groups, and user involvement strategies.

This event will share insights into getting the message right for marketing and promoting cycling – with examples of defining target audiences, marketing design (branding, messaging, signage, and mapping), working in partnership, embedding approaches, tips and challenges.

Time: 5.30pm for 6.00pm (duration approx. 1½ hours). Light refreshments available from 5.30pm
