Led by CIHT South West. This event will help introduce you to the CIHT President and key members of the CIHT South West committee.
2020 has not been an ordinary year. The Coronavirus pandemic has transformed the region’s transport systems with significant reductions in public transport use, shifts both away from and to private car use and increases in walking and cycling. The region’s transport networks have had to quickly adapt: in particular, emergency active travel measures have been put in place across the region and – to a large degree – have had positive backing.
Following the conclusion of 2020, the South West region would like to provide an informal and personal event to allow our members to kick-off the New Year by interacting with the committee and the CIHT.
We are grateful to have the CIHT President, Martin Tugwell, attending who will provide some background on his route to becoming the CIHT President, as well as taking your questions.
So, as we reflect on 2020, please join the CIHT South West committee for an opportunity to hear from our Chair, Chris Shipway, and other committee members on our experiences of the past year and our expectations, plans and forthcoming events for 2021. This will be a great opportunity to get to know your committee and to network with other members. You will also have the chance to ask your questions to the committee. As we look forward to the festive break, please come and join:
Our 2021 Regional Awards are also available for submission. We will provide an update on the submissions to-date, categories, and an update on plans for this year’s virtual awards ceremony (taking place in March).
The event is aimed at all transportation professionals – members and non-members.
We encourage all members from the region to attend to reflect on recent CIHT South West activity, webinars and workshops, to hear about our plans for 2021 and have your views heard on what has and hasn’t worked this year as we’ve adapted to online events and what you would like to see more of in the future.
We hope that this will provide a good networking opportunity for our regional members.
