MEET THE CIHT PRESIDENT: Andreas Markides

 

Andreas Markides was elected President of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation in June 2017 and the theme for his Presidential year is “Creating Better Places”, supporting CIHT’s vision of “World-class transportation infrastructure and services”.

 

Andreas is experienced in the planning, design and management of major development projects, urban extensions and town centre regeneration schemes. He has worked for several private and public sector clients in the UK as well as overseas. In the UK he has worked for Local Authorities as expert witness at public inquiries and his clients have also included many housebuilders, Land Securities, Countryside Properties, Network Rail and Grainger PLC among others. Andreas has been an active member of the CIHT for close to 15 years and is also on the Transport Panel of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a founding member of the Academy of Urbanism. In 2014 he acted as Planning Commissioner for the island of Cyprus.

 

The event is open to members and non-members. Refreshments will be provided.
