Meeting South Hampshire's Transport Demands

Time: Wednesday, 25 March 2009
Venue: Sir James Matthews Building,
Southampton Solent University,
157-187 Above Bar, Southampton SO14 7NN
Speaker: Keith Wilcox - Project Director, Transport for South Hampshire

The roads of south Hampshire are congested now and the public transport network also struggles to cope with demand. What is it going to be like after the influx of 80,000 more homes in the area with rates of car ownership that are continuing to rise? Keith Willcox will describe how a unique partnership of local authorities and transport interests is aiming to square this seemingly impossible circle.

Keith Wilcox has 25 years experience in the transport industry, working in a range of jobs in Local Government, Consultancies and with transport operators.  He has experience in Business Development, Transport Planning, Passenger Transport and Project Management of multi million pound schemes.  He is a Fellow of both the Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. In October last year, Keith was appointed as Project Director of Transport for South Hampshire.

There will be refreshments at 6pm followed by the meeting at 6.30pm.
