John has held positions in the Education and Professional Development departments at two Professional Engineering Institutions. He has supported mentoring programs for both and comes to this webinar with over 5 years experience.
John also manages the annual CPD audit process for CIHT and the End Point Assessment program for apprentices looking to receive their professional qualification of Engineering Technician (EngTech) on the level 3 Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship.
Grace Smith is an Associate Director at Wood Group based in their Newcastle office. She is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in highways and transportation projects for public and private sector clients from feasibility, preliminary and detailed design to implementation.
Her special interests are in future mobility, transport decarbonization and the development of transport solutions that are resilient in the face of climate change, adaptable to fast moving technologies and society’s needs and good value for money. Grace has been a mentor for apprentice and graduate transport planners. Grace is also Junior Vice Chair for CIHTs Northeast and Cumbria region
Nick is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with over 27 years' experience as a specialist in Traffic, Road Safety Engineering and Road Safety Audit. Extensive proven experience both in the UK and Internationally, delivering a diverse range of progressive Safety Engineering solutions. A Project Manager providing an authoritative and dependable service within both local government and International multi disciplinary consultancy groups.
Additionally, Nick is a qualified Safety Audit Team Leader to GG119, Holding a certificate of competence meeting the requirements of the European Directive 2008/EC and Road Safety Interim Advice Note 152/11 and 152/11(W), having completed over 1,000 Road Safety Audits.
