The presentation will cover and discuss the funding, design and construction of this section of the A46 from a single two lane highway to a dual two lane highway with grade separated junctions.
Peter Taylor is Balfour Beatty’s Construction Manager for the project and has some 34 years experience in civil engineering, 21 years of which have been spent working on highway or motorway contracts.
His career in the construction industry has been predominantly as part of site-based, engineering and project management teams. In addition to his work within the highways disciplines, he has worked on a wide variety of heavy civil engineering projects which have included reinforced concrete structures, airport paving, pumping stations/pipeline works, power stations and sea defences. After nearly 30 years with Alfred McAlpine he joined Balfour Beatty in January 2009 at the commencement of the construction phase of the A46 project.
Ian Wildgoose is Design Manager of URS Scott Wilson. Ian joined Scott Wilson some 29 years ago and holds the position of Associate within the company. He has been involved with the A46 scheme since 2004 and been involved in the development of the scheme and the Public Inquiry procedures.
