Seminar Description:
The National Transport Authority (NTA) has developed five regional models as part of their Regional Modelling System (RMS). The NTA are now in a position to launch these regional models. The seminar will provide an overview to the development of the South-Western Regional Model (and the other Regional Models) alongside a discussion to the uses of the SWRM in the preparation of transport plans, strategies, development assessments, scheme appraisal and policies.
Speakers:
Barry Colleary – Head of Transport Modelling at National Transport Authority
Barry is responsible for the maintenance and application of the transport modelling and appraisal tools of the National Transport Authority.
David Siddle – Jacobs
David has over fifteen years’ experience in transport modelling, scheme appraisal and project management. He is highly experienced in the use of a variety of modelling packages including CUBE Voyager, Trips, VISUM, Saturn, Paramics, VISSIM, MapInfo and ArcGIS. David has specialised in demand modelling and has developed an expertise in modelling theory and analytical techniques; he is currently developing predictive modelling capability for a number of projects around the world. He has developed a large number of strategic and micro-simulation models throughout the UK and Ireland as well as in the Middle East and in the US. In recent years he has provided expert advice to a number of large public sector agencies including Transport for London, the Highways Agency and the National Transport Authority.
Sean Kearns – Systra
Sean Kearns is an experienced transport planner and modeller having worked on a wide range of challenging projects over the last number of years involving highway, public transport, and multi-modal appraisal. He currently has 11 years experience in the transportation planning sector, in roles involving data analysis, software development and the study of complex transport systems.
Andrew Archer – Systra
Andrew Archer has over 16 years of diverse and challenging experience in a wide range of transportation planning, policy and engineering projects. Through his work in Europe and the Middle East, Andrew has played a major role in strategic planning and innovative design on a number of key public and private sector transportation projects including development masterplans, transport framework plans, highway scheme appraisal, and conceptual designs of transport infrastructure schemes. Andrew’s particular expertise lies in working with clients and stakeholders in a collaborative manner to develop practical and implementable strategies.
