This joint CIHT/ICE/CILT evening talk will provide the opportunity to hear from Transport Scotland on the development of the draft National Transport Strategy (NTS2) which was published for a 12 week consultation on the 31st July.
You will also be updated on the work so far on the Second Strategic Transport Projects Review to identify strategic transport interventions that will help contribute towards delivery of the future vision for transport and outcomes set out in the National Transport Strategy.

Paul Junik BEng, TPP, MCIHT
Paul is a Transport Planning Professional with 25 years’ experience in transport planning having worked in local government, consultancy and latterly for the last six years for Transport Scotland. He joined Transport Scotland in 2013 where he has been responsible for the development and application of the range of transport models that Transport Scotland uses, while also working on a wide range transport projects. Whilst working in consultancy Paul was heavily involved in the Forth Crossing Replacement Study and the first Strategic Transport Projects Review published in 2008. Currently, Paul leads the team responsible for the day-to-day management of Jacobs/AECOM consultant team as they undertake the second Strategic Transport Projects Review for Transport Scotland.
Laurence Kenney MEng, MSc, CEng, MCIHT
Laurence is a Chartered Engineer with 17 years’ experience in the transport sector. He holds an MEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering and an MSc in Transport Planning and Engineering. He joined Transport Scotland on secondment in 2006 to assist with the first Strategic Transport Projects Review and has subsequently worked on a wide variety of projects, including the delivery of the transport plan for the 2014 Ryder Cup and rolling out the ChargePlace Scotland network to support the adoption of low carbon vehicles. He is currently supporting the delivery of Scotland’s second National Transport Strategy which is the subject of this presentation.
