The presentation will cover the challenges faced and overcome during the constructing the 1.4km online improvement through the village of Glandyfi in Powys, mid Wales. The works included  the installation of 690 anchors to form two retained cuttings with a maximum height of 15m and the construction of other more traditional structures with heights  of up to 7.5m adjacent to the Cambrian Railway Line. The narrow environmentally sensitive corridor through Glandyfi required significant temporary works and careful sequencing to maintain the trunk road traffic flows.
