PACTS’ Autumn Conference 2014
Driverless vehicles: from technology to policy
PACTS autumn conference this year will be held at Thatcham Research and will bring together vehicle technology experts and policy makers to explore how new technologies (driverless, driver assist and others) can best be exploited to reduce crashes, achieve casualty reductions and to improve safety for all road users.
It will be chaired by Professor Pete Thomas, Loughborough University. Confirmed speakers or panellists include Peter Shaw (Thatcham Research), Scott Pendry (Association of British Insurers), Ian Yarnold (DfT) and Dr. Samantha Jamson (Leeds University). A Transport minister has been invited.
Delegates will have the opportunity to view new technologies and to hear and question experts. The conference is timely for the Government’s review of regulations for testing driverless cars and the Transport Select Committee’s Motoring of the future inquiry.
