CIHT (and the wider sector) are now at a point where we need to drive action and really shift the dial on equality, diversity and inclusion as we work to fill the skills gap and create a progressive, sustainable industry where the workforce reflects the communities in which we serve, and to keep the nation thriving and moving. This webinar is open to all employees of the CIHT Partner Organisations and will provide an update on the new EDI Chartermark.
CIHT’s values of professionalism, inclusivity, collaboration and progression, underpin our commitment to creating a sector that leads the way in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and embeds EDI at the core of professional and organisational good practice. Our current Diversity and Inclusion Charter was produced to bring like-minded organisations across the sector together to work with CIHT to achieve its EDI ambitions. We are now developing this Charter into our new EDI Chartermark.
The CIHT Diversity & Inclusion Charter has been a public mark of progress that endorses Signatories’ active and ongoing commitment to D&I key principles and practices as stipulated in our ‘Shifting the Dial’ strategy. All our Partners were asked to sign up to the Diversity & Inclusion Charter when they joined the Partnerships Network.
As we strengthen our stance on EDI, we aim to cultivate a collaborative environment where best practice is amplified and positive change is accelerated. We are encouraging signatory organisations to pledge their commitment to EDI and to actively demonstrate commitment through actions they have and will continue to take within their businesses.
The new and updated EDI Chartermark builds upon the original D&I Charter Statement published in May 2016. As well as setting out a clear commitment to EDI in the workplace, the updated Chartermark encourages signatories to share examples of good practice and depending upon where the organisation is in their EDI journey, it encourages sharing of experiences around measuring and reporting on developments towards achieving their EDI goals.
During the webinar you will hear from our speakers who represent several companies working in our sector, and who will share their experiences and perspectives on the importance of EDI and challenges faced by businesses.
Delegates attending the event will have the opportunity to raise questions, provide comment and share their own views on how we can develop the updated Chartermark to be a supportive tool whereby we will work collaboratively to influence the sector.
