The Partners Forum is open to all employees of CIHT Partner Organisations. The Forum is designed for a small group of representatives from Partner Organisations to come together to share views and opinion whilst discussing common industry issues and challenges.
Social value is not about road building but about transforming communities and has a vital role to play in levelling-up society. Experience and impact to date seem to vary across regions as work is undertaken to maximise value and accountability to drive better social, environmental and economic outcomes.
But how is social value perceived at the various stages of a scheme’s lifecycle? What are the challenges of delivery and implementation and what impact is being seen in the communities in which we work and live?
The aim of creating social value outcomes from transport activity can be used as a tool for attracting levelling up funding to improve local economic conditions and opportunities. This starts with the way in which we plan, design and procure and we need to change the way we approach our work, avoiding generic solutions and instead to look to solve local, regional and national challenges.
This panel discussion will look at the different challenges being faced in different regions, the role of Net Zero in delivering social value, the skill and training needed in our sector and best practice examples which are producing the evidence that justify the need to focus on delivery of social value and how it supports the levelling up challenge.
