Pioneers09 - Connecting business with pioneering research

Olympia Conference Centre, London,

Pioneers 09 is a showcase science event engineered to bring together forward-thinking researchers and business people, who have a passion for innovative science and technology.  Pioneers 09 is organised by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council - the main UK government agency for funding research in this area.

An interactive, 'hands-on' exhibition featuring over 20 universities will showcase innovative new research and technology in areas such as intelligent transport and adapting to climate change.  Be inspired by developments in different fields.

The BBC's Quentin Cooper will chair talks from keynote speakers such as Richard Noble, director of the land-speed record project and Tom Ilube, CEO of new internet company Garlik and one of the founder members of Egg Plc.

A 'Dragon's Den' style panel of Venture Capitalists will be deciding which emerging technology could have the biggest impact in the future.

One-to-one meetings with our staff will help you find out how to access the world-class research and people taking part in the 6,000 projects receiving £3bn funding from EPSRC.

Pioneers09 is free to attend but places are limited register now to secure your place.   The deadline for registration is 4 February 2009.
