Placemaking and Play – Creating places and spaces for the next generation.
This event will focus on the importance of creating child-friendly communities in the way we think about planning, designing and implementing public realm schemes and the routes to them. Built on a successful series of events with local authorities across England, this interactive session is a must for anyone involved in street design, maintenance, urban planning – in fact anyone that touches the design of public space in their work.
Using a series of thought-provoking exercises, Jon will help those attending consider the issues facing children in a different way and take away practical tips. This event is also a helpful introduction to the full-day course available through CIHT (fee payable).
Jon Harris – Harris Ethical Ltd and Play England
Jon Harris is director of Harris Ethical Ltd, a town and transport planning consultancy formed in 2011, specialising in sustainable transport, travel planning, access-for-all, training and facilitation.
