The event
Gaining professional qualifications in your field of expertise is a significant personal achievement that can help open doors as you progress through your career. From understanding the routes to the right professional qualification, through to the process, preparation, and the interview, this session will help you understand what becoming a professionally qualified Engineer means and how to increase your chances of success.
Please note that the Branch will hold a separate event for those interested in the TPP qualification on30th September at Portsmouth University
Southern Branch Qualifications Support Group
The Southern Branch will launch its Qualification Support Group at this event. The Group will provide on-going advice and mentoring for those preparing to undertake a professional qualification through CIHT.
Speakers
Luke Meechan, CIHT Southern Branch Training Support Group Leader, and Chair of the CIHT Engineering Professional Standards Panel
Luke is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 20 years’ experience. As an active Southern Branch member, Luke is currently leading the training support within the branch. He has been undertaking professional reviews since 2006 and is currently the Chair of the CIHT Engineering Professional Standards Panel, overseeing the professional review process. Luke has supported CIHT in establishing professional reviews in Hong Kong and is well placed to provide an honest pragmatic insight to the process that will ensure you understand what professional qualification means, and how to achieve it.
Sue Stevens, CIHT Director of Education and Membership
Sue has been CIHT’s Director of Education and Membership for 9 years. She is responsible for the Institution’s professional qualifications and regularly advises prospective candidates on the professional review process. She also trains reviewers, assessors and mentors and ensures that CIHT maintains its Engineering Council licences. With this experience, Sue is able to offer valuable tips on putting together an application and preparing for the professional review interview.
